Welcome from the Vice Provost
Georgia
Tech has long been famous for its outstanding undergraduate programs
in technical fields. Today undergraduate students at Georgia Tech
can select from a rich array of programs and also augment the work
in their chosen major with courses and out-of-class experiences
in fields that fit their particular interests.
As a major research university,
Georgia Tech offers classroom and research opportunities to undergraduates
by professors who are actively engaged in the process of discovery
and bring that excitement and knowledge to the students. Through
its residence halls and its campus programs and organizations Georgia
Tech offers students many options for exploring academic and social
opportunities, gaining hands-on experience in their intended profession,
and finding the support from fellow students and professional staff
that will help them succeed in Tech's challenging academic environment.
The benefits of attending a research university are complemented
by a wide variety of support services to help insure academic success
for undergraduates.
If you are a freshmen or a new student about to
begin at Georgia Tech we have a video-intensive web site at www.success.gatech.edu that will connect you with students and faculty at Georgia Tech
to let you know what your college career at GT will be like. The
information that follows explains more about academic life for
undergraduates at Georgia Tech and provides a gateway to the opportunities
that await our students. Have fun exploring!
