| | Cooperative Education (Co-op) Co-op is full time paid work experience in industry in a student’s major field. Students work alternate semesters through the junior year. | |
| | Internships Internships are one-semester work opportunities in a student’s major field, either paid or unpaid. Professional internships are newly available in the Division of Professional Practice. They screen the assignments for students and monitor their progress. The Career Services Office also helps students find appropriate internships. |
| | Undergraduate Research Opportunities Georgia Tech’s faculty are making new discoveries everyday. GT’s faculty and research facilities are some of the best in the world and undergraduates have many opportunities for cutting edge faculty-mentored research. Research is done by faculty individually and in research teams that cut across major disciplines so students have the opportunity to work in their major field or in other related fields. | | Study Abroad Opportunities Study abroad offers a student an international experience that broadens their horizons, lets them experience the globalization of technology as well as enhance their foreign language skills. Georgia Tech offers a wide variety of cross-cultural experiences that involve class work and adventure. - 35 Exchange Programs-Students attend foreign university
- 30 Study Abroad Programs: 3 weeks to one year-Students attend Georgia Tech academic programs in another country with GT faculty
- Georgia tech also offers undergraduates a summer program at their satellite campus in Lorraine, France

| | Professional Student Clubs Georgia Tech has many professional student clubs that can advance a student’s knowledge in different areas as well provide professional experience in a fun, social setting. | |
| National Competitions in Design, Computing. Georgia Tech students often compete in national competitions and have been very successful. GT has “clubs” that form the team to enter the competition and find sponsors usually under faculty guidance. |
| | Leadership Georgia Tech prepares students to be life long leaders. There are a wide variety of programs and ways to gain leadership training and experience. - Course in Servant Leadership Professor Arnold Stancell, who holds the Turner Servant Leadership chair is teaching a course in servant leadership, MGT 4803, that will help students develop leadership skills that include collaboration and respect for peers. Students in the course may receive internships that center on service.
- Course in Leadership & Teams: Dr. Kirkland teaches a special topics course in the College of Management, MGT 4803, on leadership and teams.
- LeaderShape Program: This is an interactive six-day leadership development program available to all undergraduate Georgia Tech students. It is a retreat-style program held each August before classes start.
- Emerging Leaders Program: This is a year long leadership program for freshmen that includes a two day retreat in September followed by workshops on leadership theory and guest presentations.
- Women's Leadership Conference: Annual Conference in November to celebrate and recognize the strong leadership exhibited by women of the Georgia Tech community.
- FASET: This is Georgia Tech's orientation program for incoming freshmen and transfers. About 150 students volunteer each summer and work with the FASET office and run seven orientations.
- Housing: The housing office has many opportunities for undergraduate leadership in residence life. They employ approximately 75 Peer Leaders each year to mentor and council freshmen living in the Freshman Experience residence halls and 100 Community Advisors to live among all other undergraduate students
- Student Organizations: There are wide variety of student organizations that afford leadership opportunities. A few are:
- Student Government Association: Student Government is a three tiered governmental body with judicial, executive, and legislative branches that serves the entire student body at Georgia Tech, both undergraduate and graduate. It strives to enhance student life through various projects and initiatives, creating and promoting leadership opportunities for all students. They facilitate and foster the interaction between students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Interfraternity Council The governing board of the Greek fraternity system and liaison between Greek organizations and administrators.
 - Omicron Delta Kappa, ODK: Georgia Tech chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. They sponsor the Georgia Tech Leadership Conference and the State of the Institute Address given each year by the president of the university.
